The Institute for Chess Excellence and the Malaysian Chess Federation is launching a National Junior Training Program as a platform for the development of our best young talent.

Sessions with be weekly, on Saturdays for four hours, from 1-5 p.m., and be facilitated by FIDE Licenced Trainers.

There will initially be five regional centres, the first being at the Institute for Chess Excellence (central) followed by Johor (south) and then north, east and in either Sabah or Sarawak).

International Masters and FIDE Trainers Jimmy Liew and Mas Hafizulhelmi who were the leaders of their generations will be amongst the local coaches.

This initiative of the Malaysian Chess Federation is not intended to compete with local and foreign coaches and academies working with Malaysians but to increase the competitiveness of our players

Grandmasters and International Masters who are recognised as top trainers internationally will also be invited to conduct master classes and workshops quarterly.
