While the Federation is happy that there has been a surge of players applying for MCF ID, and many organizers are beginning to adopt the MCF Rating system, the secretariat has been flooded by emails requesting help with their registration. So, here are a few pointers:
TIMELINE TO APPROVE
The timeline to approve is between 5 and 7 working days as explained in the FAQ. Many wants their ID to be approved instantly or within the same day. In the usual case, an ID is approved within 2-3 days. If the ID is not approved within a week, please contact the secretariat.
NAME OF PLAYER
If the name is long, you can shorten it by dropping the “bin/binti” or “AL/AP”, or using “Mohd” instead of “Mohammad”. But it should not veer off too much from the printed name in your IC.
PROOF OF PAYMENT
The proof of payment must have the following info:
1. The status must be “SUCCESSFUL”. Other status will be rejected.
2. Please indicate the payee account/MCF Account on the slip.
3. Please indicate name of player
4. Please use one proof of payment for one person.
5. Please ensure that transaction has date (and time) indicator
6. Please ensure that the amount is correct i.e. RM20 for player registration
While some banks may not have the exact details displayed, at least the amount, the account number and the “SUCCESSFUL” status should be displayed. In some cases, the DuitNow transfer can also be considered.
When transferring the fund, please use “INSTANT TRANSFER” instead of “NORMAL TRANSFER” as it will produce an “ACCEPTED” status which can be reversed later.
MCF ID is not the same as FIDE ID
MCF ID is for RM20 and FIDE ID is for RM50
MCF ID is for local tournaments especially tournaments organized by MCF. As there are not many players playing in FIDE events, MCF ID is a way for us to monitor the growth, the quality and standards of the local players.
IC COPY
We need only the front copy of the IC or Birth Cert or Passport that shows name and number (or photo – where possible).
VERIFICATION EMAIL
Once registered, the system will send a verification email to the registered email address to confirm that the email address is correct and valid. If the email is not found in the INBOX, please check your SPAM/JUNK folders. Click on the verification email for the system to accept the application. As of today, there are almost 40 applications still waiting to be verified. The MCF ID application will not be processed UNTIL THE EMAIL HAS BEEN CONFIRMED.
“REGISTRATION ERROR“
Of late, a lot of applications have received “Registration Error” generated by the system. In actual reality, there is nothing wrong with the registration and there is no need to worry. Just wait for a few days for the MCF ID to be approved. But, we are looking into this situation to understand its reason.
REJECT and REAPPLICATION
If your application is rejected, you can reapply. There is no reason for MCF to reject any application except when the information, payment or details are incomplete. When reapplying, the same process applies.
PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL COPIES OF IC, PROOF OF PAYMENT OR OTHER DOCUMENTS TO THE SECRETARIAT AS EVERYTHING MUST BE APPLIED (AND APPROVED) VIA THE SYSTEM.
USE COMMON SENSE WHEN REQUESTING FOR HELP
When requesting for help, many senders just send copies of IC, copies of payment, screen shots but NEVER mention or include the name of the player, the situation that they are facing and/or the type of assistance that is needed. Please help us to help you.
Hope the above helps.
