World Youth U16 Chess Olympiad 2022 and World Junior U20 Chess Championship 2022
MCF Secretariat 18/07/2022 0 COMMENTSMCF is calling young Malaysians who are interested to be part of the National contingent to the World Youth U16 Chess Olympiad and the World Junior U20 Chess Championship 2022 to apply for a chance to compete in the above tournaments to be held later in the year.
WORLD YOUTH U16 CHESS OLYMPIAD 2022
Scheduled to be hosted by the city of Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan from the 1st of October until the 11th of October 2022, this is a Team event comprising of 6 players – 4 leading players with 2 reserves, and at least one female to be featured in the team at every round of play. The official National Team invited for the tournament will be provided free accommodation, but players must make arrangements for their flight tickets, entry fees and registration fees, and also MCF administrative fees. The organizer is also allowing a second team to be fielded, but for the second team, all the cost mentioned above including the accommodation and boarding needs to be borne by the players. Those who are interested to be part of the team, are requested to fill up the registration form by CLICKING HERE together with an application fee of RM30. All players must have a FIDE ID and MCF ID in order to apply. The closing date to apply is 1st August 2022 with the successful players to be informed no later than 10th August 2022.
WORLD JUNIORS U20 CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP 2022
Another event for the Junior players to consider is the World Junior U20 Chess Championship to be held in Sardinia, Italy from the 11th until the 23rd of October 2022. Those who may want to think about doing both events – attending the World Junior after the U16 Olympiad, are welcome to apply and see if their application will be considered by the Selection Committee. In the usual case, the official player will be given free accommodation – one each for Boys and Girls, but all other expenses are to be borne by the players. Additional players should also be allowed to play but will need to cover the entire expenses on their own.

Similarly, all players must have a FIDE ID and MCF ID in order to apply with the closing date to remain at 1st August 2022. Selected players will be informed by the Selection Committee no later than 10th August 2022.
