TAKE PART IN CHESS HUB – MCF GRAND PRIX SERIES TO EARN THE CHANCE OF WINNING RM10,000 FIRST PRIZE
After 12 tournaments that started in April and up to September 2025, the leaders of the first ever Grand Prix circuit is beginning to take shape with more than 200 players already registering some points collected from their participation.
With 6 more tournaments to go, the 32 field is still wide open with NM/FM Kavin Mohan still maintaining his lead but with CM Mohd Syakir Syazmeer right at his tail with only a few points behind. Youngster and top female contender is Aqilah Husna in 3rd place with soon-t0-be CM Chow Yi at 4th place.
With a total prize fund of RM30k offered to all the winners, and a cool RM10,000 first prize – the highest ever offered for a local player in a National level event, the GP Final Round will definitely be a mouth watering encounter not to be missed by players, fans and spectators alike.
With 6 more GP Series to be held between now until December, players who are keen to vie for the 32 spots in the GP Championship should make it a point to take part in the upcoming MCF Office U2400 Standard Series 4 schedule on 18th and 19th October 2025
The MCF Office Series 4/2025 offers a total GP points of 250 with the winner set to earn 50 valuable points to help catapult players standing by a huge margin.
Planned to be held over 6 rounds (5 rounds if players are less than 16), the MCF U2400 series also offer a prize fund of RM1,400 to the eventual winners.
Closing date is 16th October 2025 – before 12 midnight.
The final leg of the MCF Blitz Series 4/2025 will be scheduled on 1st November 2025 – Saturday, starting at 2:30pm at MCF Office in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.
The tournament will be held over nine(9) rounds deploying a time control of 3 minutes + 2 seconds per player per game.
As usual, the even offers a total prize fund of RM1,000 with the eventual winner set to earn RM200 for his/her effort. A total of 10 main prizes are up for grabs with a few selected prizes for the best category players.
Registration opens now and will close on 31st October 2025 at 12:00noon.

News Highlights
The final leg of the GP Series organized by the Malaysian Chess Federation has been scheduled to be held on the 22nd and 23rd of November 2025
This will be one of the last avenues for players to increase their GP points in order to qualify for the 32 player Championship style knock out format that is planned to be held on the last weekend of December, and the first weekend of January 2026
To register for the final leg, interested players can click on the link below. Take note that as MCF anticipates many players keen to improve their standing, the tournament is limited only to 48 players and those who registers late, will not be allowed to participate.
Come and join MCF U2400 event, and a chance to take part in an exciting event never before held in Malaysia.
Mark your calendar for the upcoming National Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship (NRBCC) which is scheduled to take place on the 6th and 7th of December 2025.
While MCF is still negotiating for the event venue, the organizer is confident that the event will take place as scheduled with Kuala Lumpur being the host city for the annual championship.
A slight change in the format where the event now is squeezed into becoming a 2 day event due to popular demand from player who took part in the event last year.
The first day schedule will hold 6 rounds of Rapid play with the remaining 3 rounds to be held on Sunday, and the Blitz championship to contested in the afternoon.

After Sabah in 2022, later to Perlis in 2023 and Pahang in 2024, the National Interstate Chess Championship now moves south to Pontian, Johor for the 2025 edition.
Organized by the Persatuan Catur Daerah Pontian and Persatuan Catur Negeri Johor, this year’s event is scheduled to be held from the 3rd to the 6th of October 2025.
Under the watchful eyes of YB Dato’ Seri Ahmad Maslan – the Patron for PCDP, chess activities have been flourishing in the quiet township of Pontian.
Interested parties to take note that the event is opened only to Teams endorsed by their respective State Chess Association.

MCF Calendar for 2025 – UPDATED
The Malaysian Chess Federation has updated its Calendar of events for 2025 following confirmations received from venue operators and sponsors.
While the Corporate Day event is like to be held within Klang Valley, the National Scholastic event will make its way up north to Perak (not Taiping) pending discission and confirmation from venue management.
MCF Office Location – Where To Find Us
Since September 2024, MCF has opened its official office located at Taman Equine, Seri Kembangan, Selangor. Managed by a small group of volunteers and committee members, the office serves as MCF center of activities for weekend events, Seminars and a Meeting place.
Since its inception, the office has hosted and organized several Age Group events, Standard events, Quarterly Blitz, NA Seminars and Swiss Manager Classes.
