Due to the withdrawal of our National Champions from participating in the ASIAN Continental Chess Championship in New Delhi – CM Tan Jun Ying has decided to opt for the World Junior while WIM Siti Zulaikha eyeing on Bangkok Open, MCF Selection Committee has decided to reopen the application for the World Junior U20 (for Girls only) and to open the application for the ASIAN Continental Chess Championship 2022.

The closing date to apply for both events is on or before 28th August 2022 failing which, MCF may opt not to send any Malaysia representatives to these events except for CM/NM Tan Jun Ying’s participation at the World Junior U20 Chess Championship in Sardinia, Italy which he has already confirmed.

For the World Junior U20 Chess Championship in Sardinia, Italy, only the Girl event is available for players to apply. Although other players are still allowed to join, those interested must note that they will need to be responsible for all the costs to participate in the event.
