With many more Over-The-Board (OTB) events being planned and organized as the country returns to normalities, the Persatuan Catur Negeri Perak has taken the initiative to organize a National Arbiter Seminar from 23rd to 25th September 2022. Hosted at the Agro Resort in Ipoh, the three (3) day course will be facilitated by FA Najib Abdul Wahab – who is also the Secretary of the Malaysian Chess Federation, and assisted by FA Abu Bakar Martin Abdullah, who is the Secretary of the Persatuan Catur Negeri Perak. This will be the first face-to-face National Arbiter Seminar being conducted since the country went into lockdown more than 2 years ago.

The facilitator – FA Najib Abdul Wahab, is no stranger to the chess community who has organized and arbitrated many chess events such as the National Closed, Malaysian Chess Festival, National Blitz and Rapid Chess Championship, and the National Youth Chess Championship.

Those who are interested to attend the Seminar are requested to contact FA Abu Bakar Martin Abdullah at +6018.664.0108 as soon as possible, as seat availability will be very limited. At the end of the Seminar, participants can opt to take a 3 hours arbiter exam, and passing the exam will take them a step closer to becoming a recognized National Arbiter.
