Jointly sponsored by the Lions Clubs of Penang – Lions Club Penang Armenian, Lions Club Georgetown Island and Lions Club Tanjung Sri Pinang, this is one event that all PARA Chess Athlete should look forward to participating in 2021. This 1st ever Online Lions International Chess 2021 (For the Differently-Abled Community) organized for the PARA Chess Community is also supported by Kiwanis Club of Penang Central and managed by Penang Chess Association with assistance from the Malaysian Chess Federation.

Scheduled to be held on Saturday, 9th October 2021, the 7 rounds Swiss event will start at 8:30am with players entering the Zoom meeting. Round 1 is expected to clock off at 9:30am with 4 rounds to be played before lunch, and the balance 3 rounds after lunch. Time control for each player is 15 minutes + 10 seconds per game, and all games shall be played online via the TORNELO platform.

The event is divided into 2 main categories – Open and Ladies, with a total prize find of more than RM 2,000 up for grabs. The eventual winner in the Open event is set to win RM 500 as the first prize offered with the Ladies category offering RM300 to the eventual winner.

Entry fees is set at RM5 per player and All Para Athlete are welcome to join this historical inaugural PARA Chess Online championship. Please review the following documents prior to signing up for the event.
