FIDE has invited Malaysia to send its representatives to the FIDE Online Cadets & Youth Rapid World Cup 2021 to be held starting from 1st August to 20th August (Qualifying Stage) and if players qualify, to proceed with the Final Stage from 26th August to 31st August. Interested parties can download the EVENT REGULATIONS by CLICKING HERE to understand better about the championship.

All in all, 30 players will be selected to represent the country – 3 players per age group per gender (Boys and Girls), to participate in the following age groups offered i.e. U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18 based on the last birthday before 1st January 2021. Player can also opt to play in the higher age group bracket and for the Girls, they can also opt to play in the Boys section should they feel confident doing so.

MCF is now accepting application from interested Malaysian Juniors that fall within the age group by filling up the application form at the following link: https://forms.gle/1groBxu3oPqTTGji6 – together with a RM 20 processing fees, for their applications to be evaluated by the Selection Committee. Payment to be made to MCF official accounts as follows:

Criteria of selection that will be used to evaluate the players includes – but not limited to, good performances in International Online events organized by FIDE and ACF (Asian Chess Federation), other International Chess events organized by other countries and recognized by MCF, and most importantly, excellent performance in MCF National events such as MCF Online events and Hybrid events that were organized in 2020 and 2021. Other online events may also be considered provided but may not carry enough weight.

Closing date for the application is 30th June 2021 and successful players will be informed by the Federation no later than 5th July 2021. All names to be submitted to FIDE by 8th July 2021.

Those who are selected to represent the country will need to pay an additional EURO 65 as entry fees and RM 70 as MCF Admin/Management fees to manage the team during the championship.
