6th Eastern Asia (ASEAN) Youth Chess Championship in Bangkok, Thailand from 4th to 13th Nov 2022
MCF Secretariat 26/08/2022 0 COMMENTSWith the ASIAN Youth event in Bali to end on 22nd October 2022, players will have around 2 weeks to recuperate and move forward for the next regional event which is the 6th Eastern Asia Youth Chess Championship to be held in Bangkok, Thailand from 4th to 13th November 2022. While the Eastern Asia event is limited to players within the ASEAN region, it will not be surprising to see the same set of players from our neighboring countries rushing from the resort island to set afoot in the Thai capital
With events seemingly lining up endlessly, many NYCC Champions that are automatically qualified as Official Players have taken the safer option of pacing themselves from burnout by declining their automatic slots. With that, only three (3) players have opted to continue the challenge by confirming their participation in the Bangkok event. The players are:
1) U18 (G): Ain Insyirah Rosli
2) U14 (G): Farihah Nur Aisyah Mohd Azman
3) U12 (G): Ashwiniy Kumaran
With their confirmation, MCF will now open the official slots to interested players who are keen to fill up the remaining slots to don the Malaysian colors. Applications are now open for the following age categories:
1) U8 – both Open/Boys and Girls
2) U10 – both Open/Boys and Girls
3) U12 – for Open/Boys Only
4) U14 – for Open/Boys Only
5) U16 – both Open/Boys and Girls
6) U18 – for Open/Boys Only
As official players, the organizer will be providing full board and lodging for each player in a double room accommodation throughout the duration of the event. However, players are still responsible for their entry fee, registration fee, and flight cost to Bangkok.
Players who are interested to apply for the slots, please CLICK HERE to fill up the necessary form. Players are reminded to read the event Regulations by clicking on the following brochure. The closing date to apply shall be before or on 4th September 2022.
MCF also welcomes additional players who are interested to play in the event including those who are not successful in their bid to become the official player. However, additional or unofficial players will need to bear the entire cost to attend the event at their own expense but, their registration to the event must be done via MCF for it to be accepted by the organizer.
