After a short selection session concluded, four (4) aspiring Para Chess athlete have earned the rights to represent Malaysia at the upcoming ASIAN Chess Championship for Players with Disabilities which is schedule to start this Friday 9th July 2021.

17 Men players from 9 countries and another 14 Women players from 7 countries will battle it out in a 5 round Swiss System competition format with a time control of 10 minutes + 5 seconds increment.

The Malaysian Men’s team will be represented by Loo Pin Xie and Amirul Shahmie Shahrulizam and on the Ladies Team, it will be Siti Safura Jaafar and Lim Yee Jin. Team Manager and Head of Delegation for the team is Muhammad Khairi Jansar who is also the President of the Persatuan Catur Negeri Melaka.

Penangite Loo Pin Xie is no stranger to the local chess community and is regarded as one of the better Junior players in the country

The Malaysian Chess Federation wishes all the players the very best of luck and hope that they team and the players will have a good showing at the Championship.
