MCF is calling interested players – both Open/Boys and Girls, from the ages U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, and U18 to apply and register to participate in the 7th EASTERN ASIAN YOUTH CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP to be held in Hainan, China from the 3rd until the 11th of August 2023.

For now, the application is open only for Additional Players, BUT should any of the Age Group Champions of the recently concluded NYCC 2023 decline the opportunity, MCF will then select the replacements from those who have formally applied to participate.

The 7th EASTERN ASIAN YOUTH event offers Direct Title for many of the category winners including the opportunity to earn the IM/WIM titles for U18 category, and IM/WIM norms for other categories. There are also offers for FM and WCM titles for those winning in the lower age group events.

As usual, the application fee is RM20 and the closing date shall be 26th June 2023. All payments – either as Official Players or Additional Players including all accompanying persons, must be completed before 30th June 2023.

As the event is within our region and the cost to travel may not be too steep, this is one of the better Regional events for players to get involved in for improvement and opportunities to get titles.
