Malaysia will have two teams participating at the upcoming World Youth U-16 Chess Olympiad 2019 which will be held in Corum, Turkey from 28th October to 6th November 2019.
The official team is comprised of Ryan Chan Yi Meng, Muhd Ilhan Mansiz Hairul, Agnes Chong Kai Ni, Lee Care Greene and Rohan Shan Tze Navaratnam. For the additional team put up by Malaysia, the players are Cheah Kah Hoe, Eshwant Singh, Ding Dao En and Brien Foo Jiu Weir. The Head of Delegation for the team will be FM Sumant Subramaniam who will also act as a coach for the players.
The format for the event is that each team must field a girl player who will play at least three(3) games from the nine(9) rounds being contested.
Both teams will be departing to Istanbul on 28th October before transferring to Ankara Esenbago airport en route to Corum, and returning from Ankara Esenbago airport on 6th November 2019 for their journey home.
Malaysia Chess Federations hopes that the team will gain valuable experience pitting wits and abilities against some of the best junior players in the world and wishes the team all the best and success in their international outing.
