A total of 39 events were rated using the MCF Rating system from July to August 2026. Some of the more notable events that came under the calculator were the SUKMA Selangor Standard, Rapid and Blitz event, the National Scholastic Chess Championship conducted in July, and the recently concluded Malaysian Amateur Chess Championship held in Perlis on 31st August 2026.
A few more events are scheduled to be rated for the September edition, such as the National Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship, which was also hosted by Perlis, and the National Open Team Chess Championship that was held on the 12th of September 2026.
As of September 2026, the MCF Rating list has 6,692 active players, with 4,243 players (63.4%) listed as rated. Comparatively, as of July 2026, the number of rated players was lower at 4,047 (60.4%) in indicating a 3% growth in the last 2 months. Nonetheless, the number is still below MCF target of having at least 10,000 players with a rating by mid 2026.
MCF still keeps the minimum rating floor at 1000 in comparison to FIDE which is now using 1400 as the minimum rating floor.
The average rating for MCF players is 1261.5.
