The 2nd edition of the National Interschool Chess Championship 2025 is set to be held at the International Youth Centre (IYC) from the 7th and 8th of June 2025. Supported by IYC and organized by MCF, the Primary and Secondary School Team event will offer the same prize fund as it did last year with RM1,000 set aside to the eventual Champion, RM700 to the Runner Up and RM500 to the Bronze medalist. A special prize for an all Girls Team will also be maintained and another Mixed Team prize will be introduced for this year’s event to attract more co-ed schools to participate. Both winners for the special prize will bag home RM500 for their effort.

Only 1 primary and 1 secondary school are allowed to be registered under the purview of the State Association.
