Chess Tournament to Commemorate the Anniversary of Heydar Aliyev
The registration portal for players to sign up for the Azerbaijan National Leader Remembrance Day 2026 is now open. Scheduled to be held on the 10th of May 2026 at UiTM Hotel in Shah Alam, Selangor, the event will be divided into the open event (128 seats) and the women’s event (64 seats). This is a Rapid event using a time control of 15 minutes plus 10 seconds over 7 Rounds
Similar to last year’s format, the total prize fund is RM7,200, with the Open winner to bag RM1,000, and another RM800 for the women’s champion.
Registration shall close on 3rd May 2026, and entries received after this date will be accepted at the organizer’s discretion, together with a late fee of RM100. No entries shall be entertained after the 8th of May 2026.
