Registration has been slow and much lower than the targeted players but the quality of players playing is quite impressive. Current National Champion and Runner Up – both Olympiad bound, will be playing in the open event which will also has FM Chan Kim Yew and FM Lim Zhuo Ren, and National Junior Champion Anderson Ang in the pack. For the Women event, Olympiad bound and Women Runner Up Nithyalakshmi has signed up for the event together with former MCC Champions – and sisters, Nur Najiha and Nur Nabila. Also in the pack is the current National Junior Champion Aqilah Husna Ainul Fikri.

A few VVIP has indicated their interest to play including University of Cyberjaya Pro Chancellor – Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Palaniappan, MCF Advisor – Noor Amin Ahmad, MCF Vice President – Muammar Julkarnain, and MCF supporter – Dato’ Mohd Nazlee Kamal.

Aside from Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Palaniappan presence at the event, the list of dignitaries that will be showing up for the closing ceremony includes MCF President – Tuan Akhramsyah Muammar Ubaidah Sanusi, Chancellor of the University of Cyberhaya – Tan Sri Dato Seri Dr Noor Hisham , and H.E. The Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Malaysia – H.E. Mr. Irfan Davidov, who will also be giving away the prizes. Refreshments will be served after the prize giving and players will have a chance to mingle with the crowd and VVIP presences at the event.

Total prize fund that has been prepared for the tournament is RM7,500 with the Open winner to earn RM1,200 and the Women champion to earn RM800.
