The Malaysian Chess Federation is opening its doors for Malaysians who have the potential to excel in chess to fill the 5th slot as part of Malaysia’s Olympiad Squad to the upcoming 46th FIDE World Chess Olympiad to be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, from the 15th to the 28th of September 2026
With the Women’s Team all filled and ready to go, MCF is still looking for the 5th player to fill in the final Men/Open team slot before registering the team for the Olympiad. Since the inception of MCF in 1974, Malaysia has missed participating in the Olympiad only once, when it was held in Haifa, Israel, in 1976. Malaysia also did not participate in a protest event that was held in Tripoli, Libya, in the same year.
Closing date to apply for the final slot in the Men/Open team is 10th June and results shall be made known by 13th June, with the final registration to be completed by 30th June 2026. An application fee of RM100 is required for the application to be evaluated.
