Pursuant to the 1st National Seniors Chess Championship held recently, MCF and KLCA has decided to proceed with the 1st Malaysian National Seniors Rapid Championship to complement the standard event. The series of Seniors event is an MCF and KLCA initiative to continue encouraging chess to be played by players from all walks of life and all age groups, as our overall effort to promote inclusivity for chess as a game that can be enjoyed by everyone.

The 15 minutes + 10 seconds increment event is set to be held at KL Chess Academy located at Sri Hartamas on 31st December 2023. Players who are 50 years young and above or in short, those born on or before 31st December 1973, are eligible to play in the event.
