It is with great sadness for the Malaysian Chess Federation to announce the passing of Mr. Daniel Yong Chen-I, IGB REIT joint COO and former President of Selangor Chess Association, yesterday.

For the chess community, as the grandnephew of the late Dato’ Tan Chin Nam, Daniel was the beacon that continued to help the chess community and was involved in the organizing of a few Malaysian Chess Festival series while he was the CEO of Mid Valley Megamall.

The Malaysian Chess Federations extends our deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of the late Mr. Daniel Yong Chen-I on the untimely loss of their loved one
