The Selangor Xtiv Virtual Chess Series which started in April 2021 ended yesterday at the conclusion of Series 4. Throughout the event series, more than 2,000 players from all over Malaysia, including from India, Sri Lanka and Singapore, took part in the Rapid event which were separated into 4 playing categories – Open, Women, U18 and U12. Top 8 finishers from each category received cash prizes totaling RM 900 per category, and the total purse of of the entire 4 series exceeded RM 14,000. Thanks to the generosity of the Selangor Exco Generasi Muda, Modal Insan dan Sukan, Selangor State Government headed by YB Tuan Mohd Khairuddin bin Hj Othman for all the effort in making the event a reality.

With all the Series concluded, the organizer will now list out the top 32 Grand Prix point earners to proceed to the next stage which is the Grand Prix Final Knock Out Championship to be held in August to crown the out right Champion of the Selangor XTiv Virtual Chess Championship 2021. More than RM 10,000 is up for grabs with the eventual winner stand to earn RM 1,000 for his/her effort.

Final listing for all the top 32 players from the 4 categories, and the final draw for the knock out stage, will be listed and shared within the next few days. For now, the event is scheduled to take place in August but the date and time to be announced and confirmed later as it may take 3 days to complete the entire competition cycle.
