With Series 1 completed but with lower than expected number of entries, the Organizer has obtained approval from Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (KPM) for primary and secondary schools student to earn PAJSK points by participating in the event.

MCF is also planning to use the XTiv Series event to revive the MCF Rating System which is expected to be published by July 2021. The new MCF Rating System will be use to gauge our players progress within the country especially new and young players interested to play chess, and those who are active on the local scene but lack participation in FIDE rated events.

All categories will be played over 8 Rounds Swiss using a time control of 8 mins + 2 seconds time control. Event is FREE for all to participate but is capped at 250 players for the U12, U18 and Open section, and 150 for the Ladies section. Closing date is 20th May 2021 or once the number of participants has reached its limit – whichever is first.

As before, the prize fund for the event is RM 900 per category as per the following breakdown: RM 250 (Champion), RM 200 (Runner Up), RM 150 (3rd), RM 100 (4th) and RM50 each (5th to 8th).

For the GP Grand Final to be done in August, the top 32 Grand Prix point earner will be be invited to the final with the main winner set to earn a cool RM 1,000 as prize winners for each category. Similar to the Series prize structure, only the top 8 (those who qualify up to the Quarterfinal rounds) will earn prize money for their effort.
