A small group of chess enthusiasts, supporters, and parents were at the KLIA2 Arrival Hall to welcome home our Chess Heroes who touched down at 8:39 pm yesterday night. After a long wait, they finally emerged all clad in their Harimau attire, greeted by flashing cameras and news reporters, officials, fans, supporters, and parents who have gathered enthusiastically outside the almost packed arrival gate.

In tow were sisters WIM Puteri Munajjah and WFM Puteri Rifqah proudly showing off their bronze medals which they have rightfully earned from the Women Blitz Team event which was contested a day earlier.

In any event, KUDOS and BRAVO to all our chess heroes. Despite not being able to repeat or improve on the glittering gold medal that we had wanted, they did their best and for that, they should be praised for performing their best. Chin up! There will always be another time

CONGRATS to the medalists – WCM Sim Jia Ru, WIM Puteri Munajjah and WFM Puteri Rifqah, and the entire Malaysian contingent for a job well done!
