The Selangor Exco for Youth and Sports have confirmed the dates for the Selangor XTiv Virtual Chess Series 2021 to be held between April and August 2021 starting with Series 1 on 10th April 2021. Players have the option to enter any of the four playing categories offered – U12, U18, Ladies and Open with each category offering cash prizes for the top 8 players and Grand Prix points for the top 50 players.

At the end of 4th Series, the top 32 Grand Prix point earners will be invited to play in the Grand Final knockout event to be held on 14th and 15th August 2021 offering a RM 1,000 cash prize and Trophy to the eventual Champion of each category, and medals with cash prizes to all the qualifiers.

While the series are open to everyone – as long as they abide by the webcam and zoom rule, invitation to the Grand Final is only offered to Selangor residents who have amassed the most Grand Prix points from the 4 series.

A total of RM 33,960 cash prizes including Trophies and Medals are up for grabs, and the most interesting part of it all is that REGISTRATION is FREE to ALL PLAYERS but limited to the first 160 players for each playing category. If the category is over subscribed, the Malaysian Chess Federation reserves the right to reject players via first come first serve basis as per the registration form.

The event dates for the Series, its opening and closing dates for application, will be as follows:
