Pursuant to MCF Committee Meeting which was conducted on 23rd October 2020, and the expected extension of CMCO enforcement in Klang Valley as announced by the National Security Council, the Malaysian Chess Federation has unanimously agree to postpone the organizing of the Federal Territory Classical Chess Championship 2020 which was supposed to be organized from 13th to 15th November.

The new date has been set for 25th to 27th December 2020 which is during the Christmas long weekend, providing chances for players to take part without having to take extra leave, but more importantly, allowing time for the COVID19 situation to subside and improve. In the event that further postponement is required, the Malaysian Chess Federation may decide to run the tournament via online or hybrid mode, or postponed it further into 2021.

The new closing date for the tournament has also been shifted to 10th December 2020 which is 2 weeks before the event is scheduled to begin. All application with proof of payment must be submitted to mcfsecretariat@malaysiachess.org with copies made to MCF Treasurer drziner@gmail.com and Tournament Director ischani10@gmail.com
