MCF will be organizing the National Youth Chess Championship to be held at Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Seri Iskandar, Perak starting from 9th to 11th June 2023. The date has been picked as further delay will create challenges for MCF to select official players to represent the country at international Youth and Cadets events, and will also create a ripple effect that will push back the dates of other events that have been planned.

The NYCC2023 was earlier planned to be held during the 2nd midterm break (a week earlier) but many halls were unavailable due to the short school break. MCF would like to thank University Teknologi Petronas once again for extending its assistance to the Federation under short notice to have the event scheduled during this time.

The event will be National Rated hence only MCF ID is required. The time control will be 30 minutes + 30 seconds played over 6 or 8 rounds depending on the number of players for the category. Recording of moves will be compulsory as MCF would like to continue to nurture good habits for players to be more accustomed to classical time control.

Registration fee is RM50 regardless of age group or rating strength. The closing date to register shall be on the 31st of May 2023.
