As of today, FIDE Commission for the Disabled has accepted Malaysia’s entries to the first ever 1st FIDE Junior Online Cup for Players U20 with Disabilities which is scheduled to start from 8:00pm (Malaysian Time – 2:00pm Amsterdam Time) on Sunday, 21st June 2020. While FIDE has not yet disclosed the total number of participants for the global event, we expected the numbers to be in the hundreds as there is no limit to the number of entries submitted by a country.

The event will be played over www.playchess.com which differs from the more commonly used www.chess.com and www.lichess.org that many Malaysians are more accustomed to

Malaysia’s representatives to the event are:

  1. Lim Yee Jin (Johor)
  2. Looi Pin Xie (Pulau Pinang)
  3. Amirul Iman Amiruddin (Melaka)
  4. Amirul Shahmie Shahrulizam (Melaka)
  5. Ahmad Falah Md Tohid (Melaka)

A short meeting and debriefing was conducted today between MCF and the 5 representatives to manage each players expectation and provide some guidelines on their 1st ever online global event

MCF wishes all the players the VERY BEST OF LUCK, and DO YOUR LEVEL BEST to make Malaysia Proud!
