With the recent announcement by YB Minister Youth and Sports – YB Puan Hannah Yeoh, MCF will also be taking the same steps and will no longer process or provide sanction letters for registered sports entities under COS to manage events/programs.

As the ruling is meant only for sports entities that are registered with COS, commercial entities and companies would still need to comply, and will need to submit the proper documentation along with the necessary approval from the National body of the respective sports before they can proceed with the event. But, to allow for a more efficient and easier method for approval, the application process has been simplified with a significant reduction in the time required to apply.

However, chess event organizers, clubs, and state associations will still need to submit the proper application forms for all FIDE Rated events that they plan to organize. The timeline to submit is 6 weeks before the planned dates in order to allow for ample time for event promotion and marketing activities for the organizers.
