The Malaysian chess Federation has confirmed both FM Lim Zhou Ren and WIM Puteri Munajjah Az-Zahraa Azhar as our representatives at the upcoming FIDE World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan.

This will be the second outing for WIM Puteri Munajjah after her initial appearance in the same event in 2021. For FM Lim Zhou Ren, this will be his first World Cup event having been given the slot as the reigning National Champion for 2023. One of the conditions imposed by the Organizer is that the nominated player must be from the 2022 Olympiad team which disqualify our current Women Champion – Ainul Mardhiah Mohd Afif, from participating her maiden event as a Woman National Master.

All the best and successes to both FM Zhou Ren and WIM Munajjah.
