Malaysian Chess Federation is pleased and proud to announce two (2) more new FIDE Arbiter titles have been awarded to our Arbiters as confirmed by FIDE in their email to the Federation earlier today.

The two (2) new FIDE Arbiters (FA) are:

  1. Syed Iskandar Shah Syed Hussin
  2. Shamsuddin Sabri

Syed Iskandar is no stranger to the chess community up north having hold the current position of President for the Persatuan Catur Kedah (PERCAK). An avid organizer, Syed is one of the more influential chess celebrity and the main driving force for chess development in his home state of Kedah. Aside from being President of PERCAK, he is also a Committee Member of the Malaysian Chess Federation.

While Samsuddin Sabri may not be attached to any chess association, he is one of the more familiar faces seen at many chess tournaments around the country especially within the Kuala Lumpur Petaling Jaya area. An ardent Arbiter who has helped managed many FIDE rated events of late, he is probably more well knows as Firey Rook for his writings in his chess blog Laman Firey Rook Chess Malaysia that has been in existence since 2009. Professionally, Shamsuddin is attached at one of the Federal Government agencies based in Kuala Lumpur

MCF CONGRATULATES BOTH Syed and Shamsuddin on the achievement of being the latest edition to our pool of recognized FIDE Arbiters.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEW FIDE ARBITERS (FA)
