With 1 week more to go before the registration closes, only 4 players (above FIDE Rating of 2000) have taken up the free offer to participate in the Open event. But for the Women Section, none of the players above FIDE Rating of 1800 has taken up the free offer.

To date, 22 players below FIDE Rating 2000 have indicated their interest to play in the Open section, and another 12 for the Women section. By the closing date, MCF will start sending invitations to those who have shown interest to play in the event, to pay up the RM80 entry fees for the Open and RM40 for the Women. Entry is limited to only 64 players and with a prize fund of RM5,000, there will be plenty to fight for in the FIDE Rated 6 Rounds Swiss event.

If the Woman section does not achieve its target of 32 players, both categories of play may be merged into one with some changes in the prize structure but, the total prize fund will remain the same.

Prizes for Best U18, Best Veteran, and Best U12 will only be given if there are three (3) players or more vying for the position. If there is none, the prizes will be converted to 1`1th and 12th placing respectively for the Open and Women Section.

For those who are playing in the event, light refreshments will be served during the Closing and Prize Giving Ceremony. Walk-in entries will not be entertained.
