The Malaysian Chess Federation will be organizing the 1st National Individual Online Rapid Chess Championship 2020 to be held in October 2020. Players who are interested to be a part of the inaugural event are invited to register and submit the entry fees to the Malaysian Chess Federation on or before 8th October 2020.

Once the applications are closed, all players will be divided into 2 playing groups (based on rating) to compete in the qualifying rounds which will be held on 17th and 18th October 2020. The top 20 finishers from each qualifying group will then advance to the Final Round which will be held the following weekend on 24th and 25th October 2020. For the Qualifying Rounds, players will play over 7 Rounds Swiss whilst for the Final Rounds, players will compete over 9 Rounds Swiss. Time control for the event will be 10 minutes plus 2 seconds increment per move per player, and all games will be played over CHESS.COM internet platform.

All entries must be submitted with proof of payment to mcfsecretariat@malaysiachess.org and to MCF Treasurer (email: drziner@gmail.com) on or before 8th October 2020. The final format of play will be made known to all players by 10th October 2020.

Players to take note that the finals results of the 1st National Individual Online Rapid Chess Championship 2020 will also be used as one of the main gauge and criteria to choose Malaysian Representatives to the many upcoming FIDE and ACF that will are planned in the near future. This also includes any official Online events organized by other countries where Malaysia is invited to play as a team, or as individual player.
