One of the more popular events around our region, the Eastern Asian Youth Chess Championship 2026, is set to be held in Hainan, China, from the 20th to the 30th of August 2026. As many may remember, Pulau Pinang hosted the 2024 edition, which attracted more than 300 players from across Eastern Asia (FIDE Zone 3.3) and China.
Aside from the National Youth Age-Group Champions who will fill the Officials slots, MCF would like to invite players to sign up as additional entries for the highly anticipated Junior event.
Similar to the Asia Junior events, regional events are excellent platforms for players to gauge their strength and how they fare against peers from around the region. Aside from earning rating points and a chance to aim for CM or FM titles, the event also provides an interesting channel for players to improve their playing skills, make friends, and appreciate the level of chess competitiveness of players from other countries within our region. The event will be an eye-opener for many Juniors (and parents) who are interested in pursuing chess as their sport of choice.
Players interested in signing up for the event are required to fill in the registration form together with a non-refundable commitment fee of RM50. The initial payment can be deducted from the final payment once the registration is confirmed. Please make sure that players and parents go through the event Rules and Regulations before signing up to play.
As additional players, all costs required to participate in the event shall be borne solely by the player, which include traveling costs, accommodation, event fees, and MCF administration fees.
