The list of participants at the Eastern Asian Juniors and Girls Chess Championship 2023 to take place in Sabah later next month is beginning to take shape. A total of 32 Boys and 17 Girls from 6 countries including Malaysia have so far confirmed their participation.

Leading the Boys category is IM Aditya Bagus Arfan from Indonesia followed by IM Michael Jr. Concio from Philippines in the second seed. For the Girls section, our local WCM Chua Jia Tien leads the pack with 2nd seed WCM Cecilia Natalie Liuviann from Indonesia in 2nd spot.

The winners of the event will earn direct IM/WIM title and a GM/WGM norm where else the 2nd and 3rd sport will earn FM/WFM and CM/WCM titles.

MCF is still hopeful that many more players from other countries within the FIDE Zone 3.3 will register within the next couple of days. The target is to reach at least 100 players for both the event contested.
