The National Youth Chess Championship 2024 returns to its traditional venue at Universiti Teknologi Petronas in Seri Iskandar, Perak following the continuous and strong support that the Malaysian Chess Federation has received from its Management Team. Scheduled to be held from Saturday, 25th May to Monday, 27th May, the event will be divided into 6 main age group categories – Under 8, Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 for Open/Boys and Girls. With 30 minutes + 30 seconds increment time control used for the event, the National Rated event will be contested over between six (6) and eight (8) rounds depending on the number of players signing up for each group.

Held over the first weekend of the upcoming school break, the champions of each of the Age Group will be given the option to represent Malaysia at the upcoming ASEAN, ASIAN and World level events which will be held throughout the year.

Entry fee is set at RM60 for all players regardless of rating and age. Please download and read the event Rules and Regulations before signing up, and click on the link to register. Closing date is on the 11th of May 2024. Late registration will be accepted at the discretion of the organizer – subject to space availability and double the entry fee at RM120.
