With just a month away to the start of the World Cadets Chess Championship 2023 to be held in Egypt, MCF has formalized its squad of nine (9) players to the event with Nik Ahmad Faoruqi Nik Abdul Aziz to head the contingent.
The Cadets event is for players in the Under 8, Under 10 and Under 12 age bracket, and players representing Malaysia were mainly selected from the winner’s pool of the NYCC 2023 event, or those who have applied and approved by the selection committee. As per event regulations, unofficial players are also welcome to participate but shall bear all costs themselves. Although official players are given free accommodation and board, they still have to bear the traveling cost to Egypt.
