The Russian House Chess Tournament – in conjunction with Diplomatic Day, was organized over the weekend at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture a.k.a. Russian House on 17th March 2024. With their new Director in place, Mr Andrey Potemkin who replaces outgoing Director Svetlana Kovaleva, the event saw participation from 54 enthusiastic players including a handful of foreigners from Indonesia, Switzerland, Philippines and a few more.

The event was won by local junior Kavin Mohan who cruised to snatch a perfect score of 6 points from 6 games. 5 players – including MCF own Iwan Schani Ibnu, tied for 2nd place with 5 points each.

The event concluded at 2:00pm with prizes given away by Mr Potemkin to the eventual winners in a simple and casual occassion.
