The activity curtain falls for MCF with the completion of the National Seniors Open Rapid Chess Championship 2023 organized by Kuala Lumpur Chess Association (KLCA) at the KL Chess Academy in Sri Hartamas. Organized on the 31st of December 2023, the first ever FIDE Rated Rapid event for Seniors was participated by 17 players including a single lady entry in the form of former MCF Treasurer – Haslindah Ruslan.
Following the success of the National Seniors Open earlier in the year, KLCA decided that it would make it sweeter to add the Rapid Open for the Seniors and held it on the very last day of the year.
KLCA has indicated its interest to continue organizing the Seniors Open for next year – with date to be announced, and for the National Seniors Open Rapid event, the date has been marked for 28th December 2024 with a venue to be secured within the Klang Valley.
