Malaysia’s campaign in the FIDE World Cadets & Youth Chess Championship kicks off tonight at 11:00pm starting with the preliminary qualification rounds for Open U10 and Girls U18 categories. Played over 10 rounds, each category will be played over 5 consecutive days with 2 rounds of play each day. The top winners from each category will then be selected to qualify for the Knock Out Stage and then, to the Super Final stage.

For tonight’s event, Malaysia Open U10 will be represented by Kavin Mohan, Lee Yun Rui and Muhd Ismakhaizuran Khomisajie. For the Girls U18, our players for the event are WCM Chua Jia-Tien, Nur Faiqah Aminuddin and Nur Batrisya Wafa Mohsen.
