The Malaysian Chess Federation will be organizing a Rapid Over-The-Board event on Saturday, 8th August 2020 to kick start the resumption of chess activities at its new business office in Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam. Following the SOP guidelines that have crafted and provided by KBS, the event will be MCF plan to showcase a new norm on how an event needs to be organized post COVID19.

The tournament is based on Rapid discipline of 20 minutes plus 10 seconds increment, played over 5 rounds Swiss Pairing System. Entry fees is RM30 per player and meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Tea) will be provided for those playing in the event. There will be a simple opening ceremony at 9:30am with Round 1 expected to start at 10:00am. The final Round 5 is planned at 3:00pm with Tea and Closing/Prize Giving ceremony to be conducted by 4:00pm. Entry fees is RM 30 and only 32 players will be invited to play in this event based on the entries received. A total of RM500 has been aside aside for the top 6 winners with the Champion earning RM150 for his effort.
