MCF Office Age Group Standard Events

For 2025, the Malaysian Chess Federation will continue to promote the Standard events to be held at its office for the younger players to acclimatize to the more quality and serious chess games. With Rapid events mushrooming around the country, players who are interested to take up chess as a sport that they want to excel with, must be able to adapt to the standard time control where the games are slower and take a longer time to complete.

As an initiative to promote the Standard events to the younger players, the entry fee is set at a minimal rate of RM25 per player, and entries are limited to only 32 players. The time control used is 30 minutes per game plus 30 seconds increment, to be played between three(3) and five(5) rounds depending on the number of players signing up for each series. 

The top 3 winners shall each win a medal with the Girl player – should she end up as the top 3 overall winner, will have the opportunity to win both the Open and Girl medals. For now, MCF will only schedule the U8 and U10 event in February with the U12 and U14 age group events to continue in April.
