Application as Malaysia’s Official Player to International Events – Zone 3.3 and Asian Individual

ASIA ZONE 3.3 CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP

Ulaan Bataar, Mongolia from 22nd April to 3rd May 2025

The FIDE ASIA Zone3.3 Chess Championship is set to be hosted by the Mongolian Chess Federation from the 22nd of April to the 3rd of May 2025 in Ulaanbataar, Mongolia. Open only to players within Asia Zone 3.3 consisting of seventeen(17) Eastern Asian countries (except China), the top two(2) players from the Open event and the champion of the Women event will qualify for an automatic slot to the FIDE World Cup 2025 Chess Championship to be held later in the year.

The event offers a total prize fund of USD15,000 with the winner of the Open event to bag USD2,200 and the top women player to earn USD1,200.

MCF invites players who are interested to participate at the regional event – as either an official player or as extra players, to fill in the application form by CLICKING HERE before the 17th of March 2025. The organizer will provide the official players with free accommodation throughout the duration of the event but all other costs including traveling and entry fees, are to be borne by the players themselves. Extra players will have to bear all the costs involved including accommodation in order to take part at the championship

ASIAN INDIVIDUAL CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP 2025

Al-Ain, UAE from 6th May to 16th May 2025

The Malaysian Chess Federation has also received an invitation from the Asian Chess Federation/FIDE to send participants to the upcoming ASIAN Individual Chess Championship 2025 to be held at Al-Ain, UAE from the 6th of May to the 16th of May 2025. Hosted and organized by the UAE Chess Federation together with the Al-Ain Chess and Mind Games Club, the event will see participation from many strong ASIAN players from around the continent such as India, China, Vietnam and Middle Eastern Countries.

A total prize fund of USD80,000 has been set aside for the winners with the top ten(10) players from the Open event and two(2) players from the Women event to qualify for the 2025 World Cup to be held later in the year.

Malaysian’s who are interested to participate in this event – as official player or as extra players, are requested to submit in their application together with a fee of RM50 by CLICKING HERE before 17th March 2025. Official players will be provided with free accommodation throughout the duration of the event. The organizer has also set a floor FIDE rating of 2000 for the Open event and 1800 for the Women event.
