The Malaysian Chess Federation (MCF),

extends its deepest condolences to the family of

Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang DiPertuan Agong
Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah and family member of the Royal Palace of Pahang

on the recent passing away of

Paduka Ayahanda Almarhum Sultan Ahmad Shah Al Musta’in Billah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar

Under the patronage of Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang DiPertuan Agong
Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah, the Royal Palace of Pahang has been a great supporter for chess development in the State of Pahang and the country, and it is well echoed in the Palace involvement at many National and International level events organized by the Persatuan Catur Negeri Pahang.

As a mark of respect, and in view of the Pahang Palace close relationship with the Pahang chess community, the Malaysian Chess Federation and the Persatuan Catur Negeri Pahang as the organizer of the event,
has agreed to postpone The Malaysian Chess Championship 2019 to start on Wednesday, 29th May 2019 with Kuantan, Pahang and Grand Continental Hotel to remain as its venue.

As President of the Malaysian Chess Federation (MCF), we seek the understanding of our chess community during this trying period for the State of Pahang, and continue your undivided support for the event and the development of chess in Malaysia as a whole.
