This year’s National Junior Chess Championship 2026 will be held from the 23rd to the 25th of January 2026 at KL Gateway Mall, Jalan Kerinchi, Kuala Lumpur. The event will be divided into the Boys and Girls events, to be played over 7 rounds with a time control of 60 minutes + 30 seconds. MCF has also decided to register both events as FIDE-Rated and MCF-Rated events in its effort to promote more quality play for the younger players
As per the previous series, winners of the Boys and Girls events will earn the first right to represent Malaysia at ASEAN and ASIAN Junior events held throughout the 2026 calendar year.
Those who are interested in playing can register by CLICKING HERE and completing the registration by submitting proof of payment for RM60 (for players with a FIDE Rating) and RM80 (for players without a FIDE Rating). The entry fee for OKU players is set at RM30 regardless of whether they have a rating or not. Participants must take note that both FIDE ID and MCF ID are compulsory for their registration to be accepted.
