For the first time in its 50 years history, the Malaysian Chess Federation will finally have its own office and activity center which is scheduled to open on Sunday, 1st September 2024. The setting up of the office is expected to help the Federation to conduct a few of its Training and Seminar activities, including to store some of the equipment, documents and trophies that have been accumulated over the years. While the Registered Office will remain in Bukit Jelutong for now, the official change will be completed once the formalities are confirmed.
While the daily opening hours have yet to be finalized, the Office will be attended and managed by a small team of voluntary staff and MCF Secretariat. As more activities materialized at the office, the operating hours is expected to be more stable and regular within the next couple of months.

OPENING DAY BLITZ (1st September 2024)
MCF will organize a small reception with light refreshments for all visitors, and a Blitz Tournament (FIDE Rated/9 rounds/3+2) to get things started. Entry Fees is RM15 for FIDE Rated players, and RM25 for UNRATED players. Titled players – IMs, NMs, FMs and CMs (Men/Women) are invited to play for free. Top 10 prizes offered are RM150 (1st), RM100 (2nd), RM70 (3rd), RM40 (4th to 10th). Only 64 seats are available as the space within the office is limited. NA SEMINAR (7th and 8th September)
An NA Seminar will be next activity planned on the 7th/8th of September (Saturday and Sunday) starting at 8:30am with the NA Exam scheduled on the next day starting at 2:30pm. The Seminar fee is RM250 which includes meals and lunch for all participants, and the NA exam fees. Previous participants who want to repeat the exam are also welcomed to join the exam session only at 2:30pm by paying only the RM20 exam fees. OTHER EVENTS – MCF Standard Event (for U2200) and CHESS CAMPS
MCF is also planning a standard 9 rounds event with a time control of 60 minutes + 30 seconds for players U2200 on the long weekend break which is from the 14th to 16th of September . Details of this event will be posted later in this same website. And during the same week – which is the school break week, a chess camp for beginners and intermediate players is planned with details to be shared within the next few days. Those who are interested can write an email to office@malaysiachess.org to book their place due to limited seats available.
Other activities planned will include Swiss Manager classes, chess classes and training programs, weekly and monthly Standard/Rapid/Blitz events, and sparring sessions. The office will also display MCF merchandizes such as MCF Jackets, pins, mugs, chess sets and boards, t-shirts and corporates shirts.
On the same, MCF welcomes contributors who would like donate books, chess paraphernalia or posters, including preloved office fittings or furniture for the office.
