List of Schools Registered To Date – UPDATED (8:00pm – 28th April 2024)

As at the closing date of 26th April 2024, 19 primary schools and 18 secondary schools have confirmed their registration for the inaugural event on the 11th and 12th of May 2024. While the numbers may fall short of the target that has been set, getting the event off the ground is more critical as it is one of MCF’s initiative to accelerate the growth and development of chess within the younger generations. With more standard events being organized for the children, it is hoped that the playing quality of our youth will also improve in tandem with the number of events held.

In view that many are waiting for the MCF ID to be approved, MCF will allow schools to continue to register at least until 1st May 2024 and at the moment, the organizer will maintain the 1 school 1 team format. While MCF can accept registration pending the MCF ID to be approved, players must ensure that they are able to get their MCF ID number before 11th May 2024 itself. Players who do not have MCF ID at the start of the event, may not be allowed to proceed with the tournament.

Schools that bear the “pending status” are requested to contact mcfsecretariat@malaysiachess.org to reconfirm their status. Schools that have registered but do not appear in the above list, are also requested to do the same.

The Chief Arbiter for the event shall be IA Kumaresan Thiagarajoo assisted by IA Syawal Aqmar Shahrir Ariff and FA Wong Qi Hao with Nik Ahmad Farouqi Nik Abdul Aziz acting as the Tournament Director.
