We’re thrilled to announce that Malaysia will once again host the Commonwealth Chess Championship — this time in the Klang Valley in November 2025!
This prestigious event unites chess players from across the Commonwealth — a unique community of nations connected by history, friendship, and a shared love for the game.
Malaysia is no stranger to the Commonwealth stage. In February 2024, we proudly hosted the 2023/24 Edition in the historic city of Melaka. Later that year, the 2024 Edition took place in Kalutara, Sri Lanka from 27 August – 6 September 2024.
Now, in 2025, the Commonwealth returns to Malaysia — and we can’t wait to welcome our friends from around the world for another exciting season of chess together.
