Asian Schools Chess Championship 2024 (Bangkok) – Only U11G Official Slot Remains. Additional Players Invited to Join
MCF Secretariat 16/10/2024 0 COMMENTSThe Malaysian Chess Federation is inviting potential and interested players who are keen to take part at the upcoming Asian Schools Chess Championship to be held in Bangkok from the 1st to the 11th of December 2024. For School events, the odd age group bracket of U17, U15, U13, U11, U9 and U7 will be contested, and with most offers have been taken up by the 2024 Scholastic winners, only the U11 Girls is left without an official representative. MCF is now opening application from Girls between the ages of 9 and 11 to apply for the vacant spot and as per usual practice, accommodation for the player will be provided by the organizer.
MCF is also inviting additional players – those who are not officially selected, to consider taking part in the continental event as it provides opportunities for players to expand their knowledge, friendship, and to gain valuable rating points for improvement. Aside from the Registration and Entry Fee and travelling arrangement that all players need to bear, additional players will also have to support their own accommodation costs throughout the duration of the event.
For all platers, the entry fee is set at USD75 for official players and USD150 for additional players, and USD110 as Registration fees for everyone attending the event including accompanying parents, coaches and officials. The championship shall be played at the Nimibutr Stadium with the official hotels located nearby at a cost of USD1200 for a single room, USD900 for a double room and USD800 for a triple room for the entire duration of the event. To apply, MCF sets a non-refundable application fee of RM50 (deductible from the final payment if application is successful for the U11G opyion), and additional processing fees to those who are selected. In return, MCF will provide an HOD (Head of Delegate) that will look after the contingent and provide the necessary support the team may need during the championship. But in reality, those applying as Additional Players are automatically accepted hence the RM50 will be deducted from the final payment.
Those interested to apply are requested to click the following link and fill up the necessary details https://forms.gle/veHXqsJfS3CBhSzc8. At the same time, please download the brochure below to understand more about the event before filling up the application.
Closing date to apply is 20th October 2024 (Sunday) and successful players will be informed before 24th October 2024. Players that are selected for the event will need to settle all payments before 28th October 2024 failing which, MCF will remove their name and select the next player.
