MCF Chess Calendar 2026 – UPDATED on 27 Jan 2026

The MCF Chess Calendar for 2026 is now updated with new dates for the Malaysian Masters event and the venue for the National Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship. The Malaysian Masters event has been brought to an earlier date in May, whilst the National Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship is expected to travel north to Perlis as the Persatuan Catur Perlis has shown interest in managing the event this year, and coupling it with the 2nd edition of the Malaysian Amateur Chess Championship 2026.

As mentioned earlier, the calendar also includes other events organized by other states such as Penang, Pahang, and Johor, including events conducted by GACC/UM, and the Malaysia Chess Festival. However, MCF advises interested parties to contact the respective organizers to confirm whether the dates have been maintained or changed.

While many venue hosts have agreed to collaborate with MCF to organize events such as the Malaysian Chess Championship in Melaka and the Scholastic Chess Championship in Perak, including a newly founded venue in Bangsar, the final dates and cost to use these venues are still being discussed and need to be agreed upon before any event can be held or confirmed.

MCF has also managed to expand its Quarterly series with additional monthly event series to start as early as March 2026. Both the Quarterly and Monthly events will contribute to the next edition of the Grand Prix 2026 series, with some changes to be made to the GP point system.
