Asian Seniors Chess Championships 2025 – Registration Open

The Iraqi Chess Federation, under the auspices of the Asian Chess Federation and FIDE, invites all federations and players to the Asian Seniors Chess Championships 2025, to be held from 4–14 October 2025 at the official venue, Van Royal Hotel, Erbil, Iraq. The championship is open to all players aged 50+ and 65+ years (as of 31 December 2025) from federations in FIDE Zones 3.1 to 3.8.

Registration must be completed by 4 September 2025, with submissions including the registration form, ID photo, and passport copy to be sent by email to dhafer.madhloom@yahoo.com. Interested players may register directly via the official Google Form: Registration Link.

The entry fee is USD 100 per player, along with a registration fee of USD 110 per player (covering accreditation and airport transfer). A late fee of USD 50 will apply for entries received after 4 September.

All participants, except local players, are required to stay at the official venue, the Van Royal Hotel. Accommodation is available at USD 110 per night for single rooms or USD 80 per person per night for twin-sharing, inclusive of three meals daily.

The tournament will feature nine rounds played under the Swiss System, with a time control of 90 minutes plus 30 seconds increment per move. A Blitz side event will also be held, using a time control of three minutes plus two seconds increment.

A total prize fund of USD 3,000 will be awarded in the standard event, with medals and certificates for the top three finishers in both the 50+ and 65+ categories, plus special prizes for the best women players. The championship also offers opportunities for direct FIDE titles.

This is a unique opportunity to compete against Asia’s strongest senior players in the historic city of Erbil. Players are encouraged to register early to secure their place in the championship.
