The first Blitz series for 2025 concluded on the first Saturday of the month with 34 players taking part. With RM1,000 prize fund up for grabs, the Champion went to Uzair Shahar with an almost perfect score of 10 points out of 11 games – drawing with Shen Ree Herng in the 8th round and Ritesh Muraley in the final round. FM Nirish Kumar ended up in the second spot – also with 10 points, but losing on the tie break due to his earlier loss to Uzair in the 3rd round. Shen Ree Herng rounded up the podium slots with 8 points – losing 1 game and drawing 4.
The next MCF Quarterly Blitz will be held on12th of April , one week before the Malaysian Chess Championship which is scheduled to start from 16th of April 2025 in Pontian, Johor.
